Victor was dressed impeccably, his cold eyes scanning the ruined garage with deep disgust.
He tossed a thick folder onto the floor, revealing forged documents that proved Daniel's business was in default.
Victor coldly announced that he had purchased the bank loan, making him the new legal owner of the property.
He threatened to burn the entire building to ashes with Daniel inside if Rachel did not surrender immediately.
Rachel stepped forward, her chin held high despite the absolute terror radiating from her trembling hands.
She offered a dangerous trade, proposing to give Victor the pink suitcase in exchange for Daniel's life and the garage.
Victor laughed cruelly, revealing he already knew her daughter was hidden in the Starlight Medical Facility.
Rachel's face drained of all color as she realized the corrupt detective had finally betrayed her.
Victor gave them exactly forty-eight hours to deliver the stolen ledgers to his private estate.
If they failed, he promised to pull the life support plug on her child personally.
He dropped the burning flare onto a puddle of motor oil, igniting a small blaze before walking away.
Daniel rushed forward with a fire extinguisher, violently smothering the flames before they could spread to the walls.
He turned to Rachel, pulling her into a tight embrace as she finally collapsed into hysterical sobs.
