Chapter 2 - The Hidden Cash

Daniel spun around instantly, raising his fists to defend himself.
He came face to face with Mike, his own mechanic, who looked unusually pale and terrified.
Mike aggressively shoved Daniel back toward the safety of the main street.
He frantically whispered that Daniel needed to stop asking questions if he wanted to stay alive.
They rushed back to the garage in complete silence, leaving a heavy tension in the air.
Rachel returned exactly forty-five minutes later, looking as calm and collected as ever.
She sat down at her desk and called Daniel into the office with a professional tone.
She turned the computer monitor toward him and pointed at a terrifying red number on the spreadsheet.
Somebody had been quietly siphoning thousands of dollars from the business accounts for the past six months.
Daniel felt his stomach drop as he realized his garage was on the verge of absolute bankruptcy.
He instinctively looked through the glass window at Mike, who was nervously avoiding eye contact.
Rachel suddenly reached under the desk to grab a pen, but her foot snagged on her pink suitcase.
The luggage tumbled over and popped open upon hitting the hard tile floor.
Daniel gasped as dozens of bundled hundred-dollar bills spilled out alongside five different fake passports.

Rachel froze completely, her eyes darting between the illegal fortune and Daniel's shocked face.
She slowly reached into her purse and pulled out a heavy, loaded firearm.
