Chapter 6 - RUNAWAY HEART
At 2:00 AM, a thunderstorm raged over the city. Julian woke up to the sound of Leo screaming in the hallway.
Julian sprinted to the boy's room. Leo was holding a crumpled piece of paper, pointing desperately toward Maya's bedroom. Julian ran in. The bed was empty. The window was open, rain pouring over the sill.
On the pillow was a note written in crayon: Im sorry. I have to go so the bad man dosent hurt Leo. Thank you for the sandwitch.
"No," Julian choked out.

The billionaire didn't call the police. He didn't wait for daylight. He threw on a jacket, grabbed a flashlight, and mobilized every security contractor on his payroll. He tore through the rainy streets of the city, searching under overpasses, in alleys, and in subway stations.
"She’s tiny! She’s terrified!" Julian roared at his men over the radio. "Find my daughter!"
