Chapter 10 - THE BEST LAUGH OF ALL (ENDING)

One Year Later.
The Vance estate was no longer too quiet for a child. It was a chaotic, beautiful symphony of noise.
Julian sat on the patio, holding his morning coffee. He didn't pour a second cup for a ghost anymore. He drank his black, watching the sun rise over the manicured lawns.
Down in the grass, Leo and Maya were playing. They weren't wearing designer clothes; they were covered in mud, chasing a golden retriever puppy Julian had bought them for Christmas.
Maya suddenly tripped, landing face-first in a pile of leaves. For a split second, Julian tensed, ready to run.
But then, Maya popped up, striking a dramatic pose. "The astronaut penguin has landed on the leafy planet!" she shouted.
Leo burst into loud, belly-aching laughter. It was a sound Julian never took for granted—a sound that still felt like a miracle. Maya started laughing too, running over and tackling her brother in a massive hug.

Julian smiled, setting his coffee down. He had built a billion-dollar empire, rescued failing companies, and conquered Wall Street. But looking at the runaway girl who had stolen his heart, and the son who had finally found his voice, Julian knew this was his greatest success.
They were whole again.
