Chapter 20 - Blood Legacy

The Vanguard island emerged from the dense sea fog like a massive, jagged nightmare. Spotlights swept aggressively across the dark water, but our stealth boats slipped entirely under their radar. We hit the rocky beach with silent precision.

"Commence the assault," I whispered into the encrypted radio.

The night instantly erupted into a symphony of absolute destruction. Our hired mercenaries launched a massive barrage of rocket fire directly into the island's defense towers. The anti-aircraft turrets exploded in brilliant balls of orange fire, illuminating the massive concrete fortress at the center of the island.

Alarms shrieked through the salty air as Vance's private army rushed out to meet our forces. The beach became a brutal, chaotic warzone of tracer fire and explosions. Using the massive distraction, Sofia, Ernesto, and I breached the rear utility entrance of the compound.

We fought our way down the pristine, white marble hallways of Vance's underground complex. My grandfather moved with lethal grace, dropping heavily armed guards with precise, single shots from his revolver. I fired my assault rifle until the barrel was smoking, protecting Sofia as she hacked the heavy security doors with a portable decryptor.

We finally burst into the massive, reinforced central command room. Viktor Vance stood calmly behind a thick glass desk, pointing a heavy silver pistol directly at my mother's head. Isabella was tied to a chair, bruised and terrified, but she looked at me with immense, heartbreaking pride.

"I must admit, Julian, you throw a spectacular tantrum," Vance yelled over the sound of distant explosions rattling the concrete walls. "But it ends now. Drop the weapons, or she dies."

I slowly lowered my assault rifle to the marble floor. Ernesto did the same.

Vance smiled victoriously and reached for the transfer documents on his desk. "Sign the empire over, Julian."

"You made one massive miscalculation, Viktor," I said, my voice entirely calm in the face of death. "You assumed I was playing the same game you were."

I looked directly at Sofia, who was standing slightly behind me in the shadows of the doorway. She pressed a single button on her encrypted phone.

The lights in the command room instantly went completely black. Sofia had hacked the compound's main power grid while Vance was busy gloating.

In the pitch-black darkness, Ernesto threw a heavy tactical flashbang grenade directly at Vance's desk. The explosive light blinded the billionaire instantly. I lunged across the dark room, tackling Vance violently to the marble floor before he could pull the trigger.

I punched him brutally in the face, feeling his nose shatter beneath my tactical gloves. I ripped the heavy silver pistol from his grip and pressed the barrel directly beneath his chin.

The emergency backup lights flickered on, painting the room in a bloody, pulsing red glow. Vance stared up at me, coughing up blood, his aura of invincibility completely shattered.

"You are going to call off your army, Viktor. You are going to transfer every single dollar of the Vanguard's liquid assets into a blind trust controlled by my family," I commanded, my finger resting heavily on the trigger. "And then, you are going to disappear entirely. If I ever see a black rose again, I will not bother talking to you next time."

Vance looked into my eyes and saw the absolute, terrifying truth. I was no longer a frightened businessman. I was the undisputed king of the Alvarez empire, forged in the very fire he had started.

He slowly nodded, completely defeated.

Hours later, the sun rose over the city skyline. I sat on the balcony of my penthouse, watching the golden light wash over the towering steel skyscrapers my grandfather had built. Isabella was safe, finally free from the ghosts of her past. Ernesto was resting peacefully.

Sofia walked out onto the balcony, wrapping her arms gently around my waist. The Vanguard was dismantled, their wealth seized, their power entirely broken. We had secured our legacy not with polite corporate negotiations, but with absolute strength and unyielding loyalty.

The Alvarez family had faced the darkest shadows of the world, and we had emerged entirely unbroken. Our true reign had finally begun.
