Chapter 7 - The Fiery Escape

The shockwave of the exploding car threw us forcefully onto the hard concrete.

Thick black smoke instantly filled the underground garage.

The intense heat from the flames singed the edges of my ruined wedding dress.

I coughed violently and pulled Chloe up from the ground.

The sound of blaring car alarms echoed deafeningly off the concrete walls.

We limped away from the burning wreckage toward the exit ramp.

Sirens began wailing faintly in the distant city streets.

Someone had obviously heard the massive explosion and called the authorities.

I thought we were finally going to be saved by the fire department.

Then a dark silhouette emerged through the thick smoke at the top of the ramp.

Eric stood there holding his pistol, completely blocking our only way out.

He looked absolutely deranged, his face covered in soot and sweat.

He pointed the gun at me and said it was time for my tragic accident.

He planned to shoot me and throw my body into the burning fire to destroy the evidence.

I stood my ground, refusing to beg for my life in front of a coward.

I told him the police were coming and his entire plan was ruined.

He laughed hysterically and cocked the hammer of his gun.

He said he only needed three seconds to finish the job.

Before he could pull the trigger, the thirty men from the reception hall surrounded him.

They were all holding high-powered weapons aimed directly at Eric's head.
