Chapter 6 - The Desperate Pleading

A heavy, suffocating silence instantly fell over the entire restricted hospital wing.
My mother let out a shrill, piercing scream of pure terror that echoed violently off the sterile walls.
My father collapsed onto a plastic waiting room chair, burying his incredibly guilty face in his trembling hands.
Richard Pierce snatched the official laboratory report from Dr. Evans’s hand, his blue eyes rapidly scanning the dense medical text.
"What exactly do you mean by entirely dead?" the billionaire demanded, his usually composed voice cracking with sudden panic.
"The cellular structure within the vials degraded completely due to thermal exposure," Dr. Evans explained with clinical precision.
"Injecting this dead material into Daniel's compromised immune system would cause immediate, fatal toxic shock."
The realization washed over me like a cleansing wave of pure, unfiltered cosmic justice.
The universe had finally stepped in to ensure that my stolen sacrifices could not be weaponized to save a murderer.
My parents had committed federal fraud and orchestrated the theft of my past pain for absolutely nothing.
"Then we need fresh marrow drawn tonight," Richard commanded, instantly pivoting his ruthless focus directly onto me.
He took a slow, calculated step toward me, adopting the gentle, persuasive tone of a master manipulator.
"Clara, I will personally write you a certified check for ten million dollars right now if you sit in that chair."
My mother scrambled up from the floor, throwing herself desperately onto her knees right in front of me.
"Please, Clara, I am begging you, he is your only brother and he will die tonight without your fresh cells," she sobbed hysterically.
I looked down at the woman who had coldly mocked my own desperate tears just three short years ago.
"You look exactly like I did when the Boston clinic canceled Lily's intake appointment," I observed with total, chilling apathy.
"I will do whatever you want, I will go to prison for the fraud, just please save my boy," my father wept from the corner.
They were completely stripped of their arrogance, reduced to pathetic, groveling creatures terrified of impending death.
I looked at the heavy glass window of the isolation room, watching Daniel aggressively smash his fist against the pane.
He could clearly read the panic on their faces and knew his guaranteed salvation had just vanished into thin air.
I held all the power in the universe right inside the marrow of my own perfectly healthy bones.
"Ten million dollars cannot bring Lily back, Richard," I said, my voice eerily calm and steady.
"Twenty million," Richard countered instantly, pulling a sleek checkbook from his tailored suit jacket.
I slowly shook my head, stepping carefully around my pathetic, sobbing mother who was still clutching at my ankles.
"I do not want your dirty corporate money, and I certainly do not want their empty, self-serving apologies," I declared.
"Then tell me exactly what it is that you want, Clara, name your ultimate price," Richard demanded desperately.
May you like
I looked directly into my mother's terrified, mascara-stained eyes and smiled a cold, unforgiving smile.
"I want absolute, legally binding ownership of the Lakewood house and every single asset you both possess," I demanded clearly.
