Chapter 7 - The True Antidote

The horrifying realization hit me with the devastating force of a speeding freight train.
Daniel had brilliantly tricked me into giving away my only financial leverage for a completely fake cure.
Jason burst into hysterical, uncontrollable laughter, mercilessly mocking my absolute and utter foolishness.
I fell hard out of my chair, clutching my stomach as the real toxin continued to aggressively ravage my failing body.
Daniel slipped quietly out of the interrogation room, leaving me to die an agonizing death on the cold concrete floor.
Jason kicked the metal table away and looked down at me with an expression of malicious, pure joy.
He told me that his mistress Madison was actually the only person who knew where the real antidote was hidden.
He said she had secretly hidden it inside the walls of our mansion before she and Daniel turned against him.
Suddenly, the heavy metal door burst open again, and Agent Carter rushed in with his service weapon drawn.
He saw me writhing on the floor and immediately called frantically for a federal medical emergency team.
I grabbed Carter's sleeve with my trembling hand and gasped out that Madison had the real cure at the mansion.
Carter ordered the armed guards to heavily secure Jason and helped me onto a rolling medical stretcher.
He told me we were going to raid the mansion right this second, despite my rapidly deteriorating critical condition.
We sped through the crowded city streets in an armored federal transport vehicle, with sirens blaring loudly.
I faded dangerously in and out of consciousness, the burning fire in my scars becoming almost completely unbearable.
We finally arrived at the towering iron gates of my former mansion and found them swung wide open.
Carter and his tactical team stormed the grand front doors, weapons raised and fully ready for a violent fight.
We found Madison standing alone in the center of the grand foyer, holding a medical syringe filled with a clear liquid.

She pointed a handgun directly at the glass syringe and threatened to shoot it into pieces if we took another step.
She smiled a wicked smile at me and announced that the price for my life had just significantly doubled.
