Chapter 3 - The Birthright Clause

I gasped as a tall, imposing man in a tailored black suit walked into the room.
He had piercing blue eyes and an aura of authority that instantly made Ethan's lawyers step back.
"Who the hell are you?" Ethan demanded, his confident facade cracking slightly.
"I am Julian Sterling, the executor of the Vance Family Trust, and I have the DNA results right here," the man replied smoothly.
Ethan's face drained of all color as Julian held up a sealed manila envelope.
"You forged the paternity records to secure the inheritance, Ethan," Julian declared, tossing the envelope onto my bed.
I stared at the envelope, my mind racing to comprehend the magnitude of this revelation.
Ethan lunged for the documents, but Caleb quickly snatched them out of reach.
"Serena's baby is not yours, Ethan, and you knew it all along," Julian continued, his voice dripping with disgust.
"You needed a biological heir to inherit the billion-dollar trust, so you used your wife," Julian explained to the stunned room.
I felt nauseous, realizing my entire marriage had been nothing but a calculated breeding contract.
"Get out of my room, Ethan, before I call hospital security," I ordered, my voice trembling with rage.
Ethan’s eyes narrowed into dark, hateful slits as he glared at me.
"This isn't over, you pathetic nobody," he spat venomously before storming out with his lawyers trailing behind.
Julian approached my bed, his expression softening as he looked at my pale face.
"I have secured a private security team for the NICU, so your daughter is completely safe," he assured me.
I thanked him, tears of overwhelming gratitude spilling down my cheeks.

But as Julian turned to leave, a strange, sinister smile flashed across his face.
"Rest well, my dear, because tomorrow we begin the process of signing your parental rights over to me," Julian whispered.
