Chapter 5 - The Wedding Day

I spun around in the darkness and recognized the imposing silhouette of Betsy standing near the doorway.
She had sneaked into the guesthouse while I was getting dressed to ensure I missed the wedding.
She coldly stated that she would never allow a bitter ex-wife to ruin her son's perfect day.
I calmly picked up my purse and walked directly toward her without a single ounce of fear.
I told her that she was standing in the way of a woman who literally owned her entire existence.
Betsy scoffed and raised her hand as if she was going to physically strike me.
Before she could move, Parker stepped out from the hallway and grabbed her wrist firmly.
He calmly informed her that she was under citizen's arrest for breaking and entering.
Betsy turned pale as Parker escorted her out to his waiting luxury sedan.
I secured Brinley safely in her car seat and drove directly to the extravagant wedding venue.
The grand ballroom was overflowing with wealthy investors, socialites, and arrogant business partners.
I walked through the heavy double doors with my beautiful baby girl resting peacefully in one arm.
In my other hand, I tightly gripped the sealed manila envelope containing their absolute destruction.
The classical music abruptly stopped as hundreds of guests turned to stare at my grand entrance.
Connor stood at the altar in a custom tuxedo, his confident smile completely freezing on his face.
Alyssa glared at me from beneath her expensive white veil, clutching her supposedly royal belly.
I walked slowly and deliberately down the center aisle toward the shocked bride and groom.

Connor commanded his security team to remove me, but the guards did not move a single muscle.
Instead, the lead guard stepped forward, drew his weapon, and aimed it directly at the groom.
