I stared at the doctor in absolute, paralyzing horror as the terrible words echoed loudly in my mind.
Marcus immediately pulled out his personal phone and dialed his high-ranking contacts at the local police department.
He aggressively demanded that a squad car be sent to Brian's house to secure the kitchen as a crime scene.
I felt completely sick to my stomach as I finally realized what Donna had truly done to my family.

I backed away in sheer panic, begging them to simply speak with the emergency room doctor first.
Marcus smoothly and confidently stepped directly between me and the advancing, heavily armed police officer.
My brother calmly held up his federal investigator badge and firmly demanded the officers stand down immediately.
Brian scoffed loudly and told the police that Marcus was simply using his power to cover up my horrible crimes.
Marcus completely ignored my husband and pulled a small electronic tablet from his leather briefcase.
He calmly explained that he had secretly installed a hidden security camera in my kitchen last month for my protection.
Marcus pressed the play button and turned the glowing screen around for everyone in the room to see clearly.
The silent, high-definition footage clearly showed Donna pouring white powder into a plastic cup of children's juice.
The officers immediately stopped walking toward me and slowly turned their direct attention to Brian.
Brian's face turned completely pale white, and he slowly backed away toward the automatic exit doors.
Before the officers could safely grab him, he shoved a passing nurse and sprinted out into the dark night.
