Chapter 5 - The Trap is Set

Camila stared at the handwritten will, completely paralyzed by the sheer genius of Edwin's long-term manipulation.
He had somehow convinced her dying, heavily medicated father that Camila was unstable and needed to be controlled.
If she filed the divorce papers now, she would instantly hand over the entire family empire to the man who murdered her father.
Edwin smiled wickedly, knowing he had her completely trapped in a legal and financial corner.
He proudly announced that he would be moving back into the Bel Air mansion immediately.
Furthermore, he loudly declared that Chloe would be moving into the master bedroom with him, since Camila could do absolutely nothing to stop it.
Camila was physically forced to retreat to the tiny guest room at the back of her own massive estate.
For the next week, the psychological warfare inside the house escalated to terrifying, unbearable heights.
Her greedy sister-in-law, Annika, brazenly walked into Camila's room and openly stole her most expensive diamond jewelry.
Beverly constantly paraded around the kitchen, ordering Camila to cook elaborate meals while calling her a worthless hostage.
Every night, Camila could hear Edwin and Chloe laughing wildly in the master suite, entirely unbothered by George's recent death.
But what they didn't know was that Camila had spent her first night back installing hidden surveillance cameras in every single room.
She absolutely needed Edwin to be the one to legally file for divorce to protect her inheritance.
To push him over the edge, Camila began secretly draining the company's hidden offshore accounts through Wayne's secure banking network.
She systematically cut off Edwin's access to the massive slush funds he desperately needed to pay his shady contractors.
The financial pressure began to crush Edwin, making him incredibly paranoid and dangerously aggressive.
Late one evening, Camila sat alone in the dark guest room, carefully monitoring the live camera feeds on her laptop.
She watched as Edwin aggressively paced back and forth in the dimly lit underground garage.
He was furiously talking on his burner phone to a large, heavily tattooed man standing right next to her luxury sedan.
Camila turned the audio feed up to the maximum volume, her heart racing as she listened to their hushed conversation.
Edwin aggressively handed the large man a thick stack of hundred-dollar bills.

He coldly instructed the mechanic to completely sever the primary brake lines on Camila's vehicle.
Edwin wanted to stage a tragic, fatal car accident so he could inherit the entire estate as the grieving widower without filing for divorce.
