Chapter 4 - The Invalid Document

The color completely drained from Edwin's face as he stared at the massive digital projection on the wall.
The signature clearly spelled out "Camila George-Fluffy," a ridiculous moniker that possessed zero legal standing.
Attorney Wayne chuckled softly, thoroughly enjoying the sudden, pathetic look of panic washing over the cheating husband.
Wayne proudly announced that because the signature was intentionally fabricated, the proxy transfer was entirely null and void.
He also reminded Edwin that forging a legal document to seize corporate assets was a federal felony carrying serious prison time.
Beverly gasped loudly, clutching her expensive pearl necklace as if she were suddenly struggling to breathe.
Edwin's arrogant smirk vanished entirely, replaced by a deep, ugly scowl of pure desperation.
He lunged violently forward, completely bypassing his security guards, desperately trying to tackle Camila to the floor.
Wayne swiftly stepped in between them, shoving Edwin backward so hard that he tripped over his own expensive shoes.
Edwin crashed into a row of metal chairs, groaning loudly as his mother rushed to his side in a panic.
Chloe immediately backed away from the chaotic scene, suddenly realizing that her rich boyfriend might actually be a massive liability.
Camila looked down at her pathetic husband, telling him to pack his bags and leave her property immediately.
But Edwin slowly pulled himself up from the floor, wiping a small trickle of blood from his bottom lip.
Instead of retreating, he started laughing with a dark, manic energy that sent a shiver down Camila's spine.
He reached into the inner pocket of his tailored suit jacket and slowly pulled out a sealed, yellowed envelope.
He proudly declared that he had always known Camila was entirely untrustworthy when it came to money.
That was exactly why he had spent the last two years secretly manipulating her vulnerable father.
Edwin violently ripped the envelope open and slapped a very old, handwritten document onto the nursing station counter.
He loudly proclaimed it to be George Stanford's secret, secondary will, completely hidden from Attorney Wayne's firm.
Wayne snatched the paper, aggressively scanning the handwritten text with a highly critical eye.
He closely examined the unique pen strokes, the specific legal phrasing, and the notary stamp at the very bottom.
Wayne slowly looked up at Camila, his eyes filled with genuine, unadulterated fear.
He confirmed that the handwriting was a flawless, undeniable match to George Stanford.
The document legally left fifty percent of the entire multi-billion dollar estate directly to Edwin as the loyal, devoted son-in-law.

But the most terrifying part was a specific morality clause written boldly at the very end of the page.
The clause explicitly stated that if Camila ever initiated a divorce, she would immediately forfeit every single penny to Edwin.
