Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Victory

I stared at the aggressive corporate lawyers in absolute, stunned disbelief.

Daniel immediately stepped to my side, his protective fury completely reignited by the sudden intrusion.

"Who exactly is suing my wife?" Daniel demanded, his voice dropping to a lethal, terrifying register.

The lead lawyer smirked, adjusting his expensive silk tie with supreme arrogance.

"Your father filed the injunction from his holding cell exactly twenty minutes ago," the lawyer explained.

"He claims that Apex Software was built using proprietary hardware and funding stolen from his real estate firm."

I let out a genuine, exhausted laugh, shaking my head at my father's pathetic, desperate delusion.

"My father doesn't even know how to convert a PDF, let alone fund a global software architecture," I replied confidently.

I walked over to my secure laptop resting on the kitchen island and quickly typed in my master password.

I pulled up the original, timestamped blockchain ledgers proving I had coded every single line of Apex entirely from scratch in my college dorm room.

I turned the screen around to face the arrogant legal team.

"I also have the undeniable financial records proving that I never took a single penny from his accounts," I stated firmly.

The lead lawyer leaned in to inspect the screen, his smug confidence evaporating instantly.

He realized immediately that the lawsuit was entirely baseless and completely unwinnable.

"Furthermore," Daniel added smoothly, "if you do not leave my penthouse in exactly ten seconds, I will personally ensure you are all disbarred for filing a deliberately fraudulent lawsuit."

The legal team frantically gathered their useless documents and practically sprinted back into the private elevator.

The doors closed securely, leaving Daniel and me completely alone once again.

I looked at my husband, feeling the last lingering shadows of doubt completely melt away from my heart.

He had orchestrated our meeting, but he had done it to save my life, just as I had unknowingly saved his.

I walked across the room and threw my arms around his neck, pulling him into a deeply passionate, forgiving kiss.

"You are a completely crazy, obsessive billionaire," I whispered against his lips.

"I am entirely obsessed with you, Mrs. Reyes," he replied, holding me tightly against his chest.

The dark, toxic chapter of my abusive family was permanently, flawlessly closed.

We had survived the chaotic wedding, exposed the criminals, and secured our massive, undeniable empire.

The next morning, we woke up tangled in the silk sheets, bathed in the warm, beautiful sunlight pouring through the massive windows.

I was truly, wonderfully free, and happier than I had ever been in my entire life.

We spent the afternoon lounging perfectly on the balcony, planning a beautiful, long vacation far away from the city.

Everything was finally completely perfect and safe.

Then, my encrypted phone vibrated quietly on the glass patio table.

I picked it up and opened a text message from a completely untraceable, anonymous number that contained a single, high-resolution photograph of Daniel aggressively shaking hands with my father in a dark alley.

The digital timestamp on the photograph was dated exactly four years ago, perfectly coinciding with the tragic death of Daniel's younger brother.

The chilling text beneath the photo read: "He didn't pay your father to meet you; he paid your father to cover up a murder."
