Chapter 7 - The Desperate Escape

The toxic green gas rapidly filled the warehouse, burning our lungs with every single breath.

Emilio immediately pulled his shirt over his mouth and nose, coughing violently into the fabric.

"We have to blow the main doors right now," Dad shouted, his eyes watering heavily from the chemicals.

I aggressively searched the unconscious Moretti guards on the floor for any explosive devices.

I found a heavy breaching charge strapped to a mercenary's tactical vest and ripped it off.

"Everyone get completely back behind the concrete pillars," I yelled as loud as I could.

I ran toward the massive metal roll-up door and slapped the sticky explosive directly onto the magnetic lock.

I set the electronic timer for ten seconds and sprinted desperately behind a thick concrete support column.

The massive explosion deafened us completely and violently blew the heavy steel doors right off their tracks.

Fresh, cool night air rushed into the toxic warehouse, instantly clearing the deadly gas away.

We stumbled out onto the wet asphalt, gasping desperately for clean oxygen.

Dad leaned heavily against a rusted shipping container, looking older and more defeated than ever before.

"She is going to drain every single bank account we have and vanish forever," Dad wheezed.

Clarissa pulled out her specialized hacking tablet and frantically typed a series of complex commands.

"I copied the tracking signal from Silvio's encrypted phone before I knocked him out," Clarissa said proudly.

"They are currently heading to the private international airport to board a chartered jet."

We piled into a stolen armored transport vehicle left behind by the cartel guards.

Emilio drove like an absolute maniac, completely ignoring red lights and swerving through heavy city traffic.

We arrived at the private airfield just as a sleek black jet began taxiing toward the main runway.

"Block the runway with the truck," Dad ordered fiercely, chambering a round in his assault rifle.

Emilio aggressively slammed the heavy transport vehicle directly into the path of the moving airplane.

The pilot slammed on the emergency brakes, bringing the massive jet to a screeching halt just inches from our truck.

We jumped out of the vehicle and aimed our weapons directly at the airplane door.

The cabin door slowly opened, and the boarding stairs automatically lowered to the tarmac.

But instead of my mother stepping out, Silvio appeared holding a highly dangerous remote detonator.

"If you take one more step, I will blow this entire plane to ashes," Silvio threatened with a sick smile.
