Chapter 4 - The Fatal Descent

Marcus realized instantly that killing Tyler was absolutely no longer a viable tactical option.

The highly advanced artificial intelligence known as Aegis had permanently bound its core programming to Tyler's unique biological signature.

If Tyler died, the multi-billion dollar AI would instantly initiate a highly catastrophic self-destruct sequence.

Tyler stared deeply at his glowing phone, utterly terrified of the massive responsibility that had just been forced upon his shoulders.

The heavily armed mercenaries outside in the helicopters absolutely did not care about the technical details.

A second massive missile struck the left wing of the private jet, tearing the turbine engine completely apart.

Loud alarms screamed violently through the cabin as the aircraft began a terrifying, spinning descent toward the dark mountains below.

Tyler gripped the leather armrests, frantically praying to a God he rarely ever thought about.

Marcus grabbed his young son, quickly securing Leo in a heavy, reinforced crash seat designed specifically to survive massive impacts.

The terrified pilot yelled a final, desperate prayer over the intercom before the jet violently slammed into the snow-covered peak.

The massive impact was a deafening symphony of tearing metal, violently shattering glass, and screaming wind.

Tyler was thrown incredibly hard into the darkness, completely losing consciousness as the fuselage ripped entirely in half.

When he finally opened his eyes, he was lying freezing in incredibly deep, powdery snow.

The brightly burning wreckage of the private jet fully illuminated the desolate, completely isolated mountain landscape.

Tyler coughed up hot blood, miraculously surviving the terrible crash with only a few badly broken ribs and severe bruises.

He slowly crawled out of the highly twisted metal, desperately searching the area for any other living survivors.

He found Marcus limping incredibly heavily, carefully carrying a completely unharmed Leo away from the burning fuselage.

All of the elite mercenaries had entirely perished in the violent crash, leaving them completely defenseless in the wild.

The freezing wind howled mercilessly, instantly numbing Tyler's face and bare hands.

He checked his coat pocket, terrifyingly realizing his smartphone was now permanently glowing red and practically welded to his skin.

Suddenly, the loud, rhythmic sound of heavy rotor blades echoed aggressively through the snowy valley.

The enemy helicopters had perfectly tracked their crash site and were currently deploying heavily armed ground troops directly into the snow.

Marcus handed Tyler a sharp combat knife, his breath clearly visible in the freezing air.

"We have to run, or they will peel that machine out of your brain while you are still breathing."
