Chapter 4 - The Forged Signature

Mara stared at the glittering diamonds dangling from the police officer’s hand in absolute shock.
"I swear I have never seen that necklace before in my entire life!" Mara pleaded desperately.
Bianca sneered, playing the role of the devastated victim with sickening perfection.
"She planted it in her pocket while we were arguing at the cemetery," Bianca lied smoothly to the officers.
The lead officer pulled out a pair of cold steel handcuffs and took a step toward Mara.
Elias smoothly intervened, placing his broad shoulders squarely between Mara and the advancing police.
"That necklace is a cheap, cubic zirconia fake, Officer," Elias stated with absolute, unwavering confidence.
Julian scoffed loudly, crossing his arms with an incredibly arrogant expression.
"It is a family heirloom worth over two million dollars, Elias, and you know it," Julian countered.
Elias casually took the necklace from the officer's hand before anyone could stop him.
He placed the glittering jewelry on the marble floor and ruthlessly crushed it beneath the heel of his expensive leather shoe.
The supposed diamonds shattered instantly into dozens of cloudy, worthless glass shards.
The police officers stared in absolute disbelief at the broken, fake jewelry scattered across the floor.
"Real diamonds do not shatter under a simple leather shoe, Julian," Elias mocked coldly.
Bianca’s face drained of all color, completely humiliated by the sudden failure of her malicious setup.
Julian realized his trap had completely failed and angrily ordered his wife to leave the penthouse.
The police officers apologized profusely to Elias for the intrusion and quickly escorted the furious couple out.
When the heavy doors finally closed, Mara collapsed onto the plush sofa, shaking with delayed adrenaline.
"How did you know the necklace was a complete fake?" Mara asked, catching her breath.
Elias poured her a glass of cold water and handed it to her with a surprisingly gentle touch.
"Because the real necklace has been locked safely in my private bank vault for over ten years," Elias explained.
He sat beside her, his expression growing incredibly dark and serious.
"Julian is escalating his attacks, which means we have to strike back immediately," he declared.
Elias promised to hire the best legal team in the country to protect her rights and secure their future.
He pulled out his phone to call his lead attorney, but his private security chief rushed into the room.
The security chief looked incredibly pale and handed Elias a glowing digital tablet.
"Sir, you need to see the breaking news broadcast right now," the chief urged frantically.
Elias took the tablet, and Mara leaned over his shoulder to watch the chaotic news report.
A prominent local news anchor was displaying highly confidential, private medical documents on the screen.
The documents completely exposed Mara’s pregnancy to the entire world in a vicious tabloid frenzy.
But that was not the most horrifying part of the shocking television broadcast.
The document clearly displayed a signature proving that Mara had officially signed away all her parental rights to Bianca.
Mara felt the entire room spin violently as she stared at the perfectly forged signature on the screen.
"I never signed that paper!" Mara screamed, tears of absolute panic welling in her eyes.
Elias zoomed in on the document, recognizing the official letterhead of the medical clinic instantly.
"It was signed by the doctor who confirmed your pregnancy yesterday," Elias realized with a lethal, terrifying calmness.

He grabbed his car keys and a loaded weapon, his eyes burning with intense, unadulterated fury.
"We are going to pay that corrupt doctor a very painful visit right now."
