Chapter 7 - The Ticking Clock

The freezing ocean wind howled aggressively across the deserted beach, biting violently into Preston’s soaked clothing.

He dropped entirely to his knees beside the unconscious boy, absolute, terrifying panic completely flooding his newly enhanced system.

“Julian, wake up right now, you cannot die on me!” Preston shouted desperately, forcefully shaking the boy’s completely fragile shoulders.

Julian did not respond at all, his terrifyingly pale skin growing increasingly colder by the absolute second.

Preston furiously pressed his large hand against the boy’s small chest, completely horrified by the incredibly weak, rapidly failing heartbeat.

He instantly realized that leaving the boy to die on the sand was entirely out of the question.

Preston violently grabbed the unconscious Vance by his tactical collar and forcefully dragged the massive man entirely into the nearby tree line.

He quickly secured the traitor entirely to a heavy tree trunk, completely intending to deal with him after saving the child's life.

Preston then scooped the dying boy completely into his powerful arms and sprinted entirely away from the burning helicopter wreckage.

He ran with absolutely terrifying, superhuman speed down the deserted coastal highway, entirely desperate to find any form of medical help.

After twenty agonizing minutes of completely brutal sprinting, he spotted a heavily neon-lit, highly illegal underground cybernetics clinic.

Preston violently kicked the heavy metal door completely off its hinges, entirely ignoring the shocked screams of the corrupt street doctor inside.

“I have ten million dollars in completely untraceable offshore accounts, and it is entirely yours if you save this boy!” Preston roared aggressively.

The terrified, heavily tattooed doctor immediately cleared a massive steel operating table and forcefully gestured for Preston to lay the child down.

The corrupt doctor quickly attached several highly advanced biometric scanners entirely to Julian's violently failing body.

As the heavy monitors violently flickered to life, the street doctor gasped in absolute, unadulterated horror.

“This child does not have normal human blood flowing entirely through his veins,” the doctor whispered, furiously backing completely away from the table.

“His entirely internal organs are rapidly breaking down because his cellular structure is completely overloaded with massive, unstable radiation.”

Preston violently grabbed the terrified doctor by his entirely dirty collar, completely lifting him entirely off the floor.

“How do you completely reverse the genetic damage right now?” Preston demanded, his eyes burning entirely with protective fury.

The choking doctor frantically pointed a shaking finger entirely toward a massive, heavily encrypted corporate data drive resting entirely on the desk.

“The completely original genetic sequencing codes required to stabilize him only exist entirely on the main server inside Marcus's heavily guarded laboratory!” the doctor choked out.

Preston dropped the heavily coughing man completely to the floor, absolute, terrifying realization entirely washing over him.

The only possible way to completely save the boy's life was to entirely break directly into the most heavily fortified corporate fortress in the world.

He gently placed his warm hand entirely on Julian's freezing forehead, silently promising to entirely destroy the man who did this to them.

Preston violently grabbed a heavy, experimental plasma rifle entirely off the clinic's black-market weapon rack.

Suddenly, the underground clinic's heavy security monitors violently flashed entirely bright red.

“Someone heavily armed is actively breaking entirely through the front blast doors,” the terrified doctor whimpered entirely from the floor.

Preston aggressively leveled the heavy plasma rifle completely at the ruined entrance, entirely ready to slaughter Marcus's incoming death squad.

But the person who violently stepped entirely through the smoke was not one of Marcus's monstrous bio-soldiers.

May you like

It was Elena, Preston’s completely loyal, highly trusted former medical nurse, holding a massive, heavily primed thermal detonator entirely in her hand.

“Marcus completely told me you brutally murdered his scientists, Preston, and I am entirely here to finish this,” Elena screamed, her finger aggressively trembling on the dead-man's switch.
