Vance pulled the trigger with a sharp and decisive motion.
A loud metallic click echoed through the room, but the gun did not fire a single bullet.

Vance stared at his useless weapon in absolute shock and confusion.
Tony capitalized on the brilliant distraction and struck Vance across the jaw with the butt of the shotgun.
Vance collapsed onto the floor in a pathetic heap of ruined arrogance.
The distant sound of wailing sirens rapidly approached the massive estate.
Tony had covertly contacted his former military colleagues working in the FBI before we ever arrived.
Dozens of heavily armored federal agents aggressively stormed into the ruined bedroom.
They quickly subdued the remaining mercenaries and slapped heavy iron handcuffs onto my traitorous family.
Harper screamed and cursed as she was forcefully dragged away by two massive federal agents.
Preston sobbed hysterically while a paramedic tightly bandaged his profusely bleeding leg.
Eleanor tried to play the innocent victim, but Tony handed the agents a recording of her crimes.

My vision began to fade completely black as the poison finally overpowered my struggling heart.
