Chapter 7 - The Master Architect

The sudden metallic crash of the titanium shutters caused Preston to jump backward in terror.
Red emergency lights began flashing aggressively across the ceiling of the master bedroom.
An automated robotic voice announced that the primary panic room protocol had been fully engaged.
Harper screamed in frustration and demanded that I reverse the lockdown command instantly.
I slowly stood up from the floor and smiled at the foolish children who thought they could outsmart me.
I informed them that these reinforced titanium walls could easily withstand military grade explosives.
We were completely trapped inside a highly secure vault from which no one could escape.
A loud hissing sound began echoing from the ventilation shafts near the ceiling.
Preston asked me what that terrifying noise was while pointing his shaking shotgun at my face.
I calmly lied and told them the vents were actively pumping a highly flammable gas into the room.
I explained that a single spark from his shotgun would instantly incinerate all of us in a massive fireball.
Preston panicked and immediately dropped the heavy firearm onto the carpet.
Tony seamlessly stepped forward from the shadows and secured the dropped weapon.
I turned my attention to Harper and demanded that she hand over the original vial of poison.
Harper glared at me with absolute fury and removed a small glass vial from her designer purse.

She spitefully raised her arm and prepared to smash the fragile glass against the hardwood floor.
Before she could destroy my only hope for a cure, a massive explosion rocked the entire house.
