Chapter 7 - The Final Trap

I woke up before dawn and immediately called a trusted private tow truck company.
I instructed them to quietly transport my sabotaged vehicle to a secure, independent garage across town.
I then rented an identical model in the exact same color and parked it smoothly in my driveway.
Gavin walked out of the house a few hours later, eyeing the rental car with a sinister, expectant smile.
He fully believed I was about to drive down the steep canyon road to my restaurant without any functioning brakes.
I waved goodbye to him with a sweet smile, completely savoring the absolute confusion that would soon ruin his day.
I drove the rental car safely to my restaurant and immediately opened the hidden floor safe in my private office.
Sure enough, a thick stack of heavily forged tax documents had been planted exactly where my mother said they would be.
I carefully removed the fraudulent papers using latex gloves, ensuring I preserved my father’s fingerprints on the pages.
I placed the fake evidence into a secure evidence bag, adding it to my growing arsenal of absolute destruction.
I spent the rest of the week finalizing the meticulously crafted traps with Mr. Harrison and Diane.
We legally triggered the punitive First Star clause, formally seizing all of Gavin and my parents’ legitimate assets.
I also hired a premium event printing company to produce fifty beautiful, wax-sealed envelopes for the upcoming celebration.
Each envelope contained high-resolution copies of the DNA test, the forged notary stamp, the loan shark debt, and the hidden camera footage.
The morning of the elaborate engagement and christening party finally arrived with bright, beautiful sunshine.
Brooke had transformed the expansive gardens of my estate into a lavish, incredibly expensive floral wonderland.
She was wearing a stunning, custom-made white gown, proudly showing off her newborn son to the wealthy guests.
Gavin was mingling with local politicians and affluent business owners, completely playing the role of the successful, generous host.
They both looked absolutely stunned when I gracefully walked down the patio steps wearing a breathtaking, crimson designer dress.
Gavin’s face turned visibly pale, clearly terrified that I had somehow miraculously survived the cut brake lines.
My mother rushed over to me with a frantic, forced smile, attempting to physically block my path to the main garden.
“Audrey, what on earth are you doing here dressed like that?” she hissed angrily under her breath.
“I am simply here to celebrate the newest additions to our beautiful, honest family,” I replied with a chillingly calm voice.

I walked past her and signaled to the private catering staff I had personally hired for the event.
The waiters elegantly moved through the crowd, handing one of the heavy, wax-sealed envelopes to every single guest in the garden.
