Chapter 7 - The Admiral's Fury

The entire courtroom fell into an absolute, stunned silence as Admiral Thomas Vance approached the front of the room.

He was the Commander of Naval Special Warfare and the man who had personally pinned my medals to my chest.

He ignored my parents entirely and offered a crisp, deeply respectful salute to Judge Simmons.

The judge returned a polite nod, clearly shocked to see one of the highest-ranking military officers in the country standing in his rural courtroom.

Admiral Vance slammed a thick, heavily classified folder onto the wooden evidence table.

He declared in a booming voice that the medical documents provided by Mark were complete and utter fabrications.

He testified that I was not a broken, traumatized veteran suffering from dangerous hallucinations.

He revealed that I was currently employed as a highly specialized, active-duty strategic consultant for the Pentagon.

My psychological evaluations were conducted monthly by top federal doctors, and my mental health was absolutely flawless.

Mark turned a sickly shade of gray, frantically stammering as he tried to object to the Admiral's devastating testimony.

Judge Simmons fiercely slammed his gavel, immediately overruling Mark's pathetic, desperate objection.

The judge angrily announced that he was officially throwing out the fake psychiatric evaluation and launching an investigation into the forged medical documents.

My parents looked completely and utterly defeated, their terrible plan crumbling into dust before their eyes.

I felt a massive wave of triumph wash over me, knowing that the farmhouse was finally safe from their greedy hands.

Suddenly, my father stood up from the plaintiff's table, his entire body shaking violently with sheer panic.

He reached deeply into his tailored suit jacket and pulled out a heavy, snub-nosed revolver.

The courtroom erupted into total chaos as innocent spectators screamed and dove frantically under the wooden pews.

My father aimed the shaking weapon directly at Judge Simmons, his face twisted in absolute, terrified desperation.

He screamed that the cartel would brutally murder him and my mother if he didn't secure the property deed today.

My mother collapsed to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably and begging him to put the dangerous gun away.
