Chapter 9 - The Unexpected Ally

Daniel forcefully shoved the massive, bleeding mercenary completely into the executive office.
Marcus violently hit the polished floor, entirely groaning in pain as he dropped his heavy tactical weapon.
Victoria Vance completely froze, her arrogant, corporate composure entirely shattering in absolute shock.
"What the hell is going on here?" Victoria shrieked aggressively, entirely backing away from her massive glass desk.
I stared at my son in complete, paralyzing disbelief.
Daniel was heavily bruised, wearing a completely torn and bloody shirt, but his hands holding the heavy pistol were completely steady.
"I officially broke entirely out of that smoking van," Daniel stated coldly, entirely keeping the weapon perfectly aimed directly at Victoria's chest.
"I am absolutely not letting you hurt my mother or her completely innocent neighbor."
"You are a pathetic, weak coward, Daniel!" Victoria roared aggressively.
"You actively sold her out for a massive payout exactly twelve hours ago!"
"And I completely hate myself for it," Daniel admitted softly, tears heavily welling in his terrified eyes.
"But I am officially ending this massive nightmare right now."
He aggressively gestured entirely toward the heavy office doors with his free hand.
"Helen is completely safe downstairs in a stolen vehicle," Daniel told me quickly.
"Mom, you need to actively grab that deed and completely walk out of here right now."
I didn't actively hesitate for a single second.
I aggressively snatched the official legal document completely off the glass desk and firmly shoved it entirely into my jacket pocket.
"We are officially leaving together, Daniel," I stated firmly, entirely moving toward him.
"No, Mom," Daniel whispered entirely softly, a sad, completely broken smile entirely crossing his bruised face.
"If we completely run together, Vanguard will absolutely never stop aggressively hunting you."
"I have to entirely stay here and completely ensure they don't actively follow you."
"I am absolutely not leaving my only son completely behind to actively die!" I cried fiercely, aggressively grabbing his arm.
"I aggressively ruined your entire life, Mom," Daniel sobbed heavily, entirely refusing to look away from Victoria.
"Let me officially do exactly one absolute right thing before I go to federal prison."
Before I could aggressively argue any further, the heavy office doors violently exploded completely open.
Dozens of heavily armed Vanguard tactical mercenaries completely swarmed entirely into the room, their heavy laser sights actively painting Daniel's chest bright red.
"Drop the weapon right now, or you are completely dead!" the lead tactical commander roared aggressively.
Victoria smiled coldly, completely regaining her massive, terrifying confidence instantly.
"You absolutely really thought you could entirely walk into my heavily fortified building and win, Daniel?" Victoria laughed harshly.
Daniel looked directly at me, his eyes entirely filled with pure, unadulterated terror, but also a strange, absolute peace.
"I love you, Mom," Daniel whispered softly.
He violently swung the heavy pistol entirely away from Victoria and aggressively aimed it completely toward the massive wall of floor-to-ceiling windows.
He didn't actively shoot at the heavily armed mercenaries.
He fired three rapid, completely deafening shots directly into the massive, thick pane of expensive glass perfectly behind Victoria's desk.
The massive window completely shattered violently outward, entirely exposing the twentieth-floor office completely to the freezing, rushing wind of the dark city night.
The sudden, violent change in heavy air pressure aggressively created a massive, chaotic vacuum entirely in the room.
Important corporate papers, light furniture, and thick curtains violently whipped entirely around the ruined office in absolute chaos.
"Run, Mom!" Daniel roared loudly over the deafening, rushing wind.

I aggressively sprinted completely out the heavy office doors, completely using the chaotic, violent distraction to entirely slip past the disoriented mercenaries.
I heard the terrifying, deafening sound of heavy automatic gunfire violently erupting entirely inside the office as I aggressively ran down the dark stairwell.
