Chapter 6 - The Jailhouse Extraction
The two disguised Vanguard mercenaries lunged aggressively at Daniel, entirely ignoring the smoking gun in my hand.
I didn't actively hesitate for a single fraction of a second.
I aggressively dropped my aim and fired two quick, perfectly controlled shots directly into the concrete floor, mere inches from their heavy boots.
The deafening, explosive sound in the enclosed cellblock completely shattered the brief silence, and the concrete shrapnel aggressively stung their legs.
Both massive men violently stopped in their tracks, entirely realizing I was absolutely not bluffing.
"The next two rounds go entirely through your kneecaps," I stated coldly, completely keeping the heavy weapon perfectly steady.
"Back completely away from him right now."
The other violent inmates slowly began to actively back away into their open cells, completely wanting absolutely nothing to do with a crazy, armed old woman.
The two mercenaries slowly raised their empty hands, aggressively backing away from Daniel, who was currently sobbing hysterically on the dirty floor.
"You are officially making a massive mistake, lady," one of the mercenaries growled aggressively.
"Vanguard will completely hunt you entirely down and burn your entire family alive."
"Vanguard can officially try," I replied smoothly, aggressively keeping my intense gaze entirely locked on them.
I quickly gestured entirely to Daniel with my free hand.
"Get up, Daniel, we are officially leaving right now."
Daniel scrambled aggressively to his feet, entirely terrified and completely shaking violently.
He practically ran behind me, heavily clutching my dark jacket like a frightened toddler.
I slowly backed entirely out of the cellblock, completely keeping my weapon aggressively aimed at the mercenaries until the heavy steel door clicked entirely shut.
"Mom, you actually came for me," Daniel cried desperately as we hurried down the dark concrete stairs.
"I am officially saving you so you can successfully testify against Victoria Vance in federal court," I clarified entirely coldly.
"Do not completely confuse this with actual forgiveness, Daniel."
He completely fell silent, deeply ashamed of his massive, pathetic betrayal.
We reached the dark ground floor and aggressively sprinted entirely toward the side loading dock.
As I pushed the heavy metal door completely open, the blaring sound of massive federal sirens completely filled the night air.
Dozens of heavily armored FBI tactical vehicles violently swarmed the jail parking lot, entirely cutting off all escape routes.
Mr. Harris had successfully kept his absolute promise.
An aggressive voice boomed heavily over a massive megaphone.
"This is the Federal Bureau of Investigation! Drop your weapons and completely surrender immediately!"
I smoothly ejected the magazine completely from my handgun and placed the heavy weapon entirely on the pavement.
I raised my empty hands high, stepping entirely out into the bright, flashing lights with Daniel right behind me.
Two heavily armed federal agents aggressively rushed forward, completely securing Daniel and thoroughly searching me for additional weapons.
"Are you Rachel Adams?" a tall, sharp-looking federal agent asked aggressively.
"I am," I answered smoothly.
"Your attorney completely briefed us on the massive Vanguard corruption," the agent stated quietly, lowering his rifle entirely.
"We are officially placing you and your son completely into federal protective custody right now."
They aggressively loaded us entirely into the back of a heavily armored transport van.
The massive doors locked securely, and the heavy vehicle aggressively sped away from the corrupt county jail.
I leaned back entirely against the cold metal wall, feeling a massive wave of pure, absolute exhaustion finally wash over me.
"Are we completely safe now, Mom?" Daniel asked quietly, completely looking like a broken, pathetic man.
"We are officially entirely safe from the corrupt local police," I answered smoothly.
"But Victoria Vance is actively losing millions of dollars because of us, and she will absolutely not stop hunting us."
Suddenly, the heavy armored van aggressively swerved entirely out of control, slamming violently on its massive brakes.
The terrifying sound of heavy automatic gunfire completely erupted entirely outside the thick steel walls.
I heard the federal agents in the front cabin screaming aggressively before the loud radio went completely dead.
Someone had violently ambushed our secure federal transport.
The heavy rear doors of the van suddenly exploded inward, entirely blown off their massive hinges by a shaped breaching charge.
Thick, blinding white smoke entirely filled the dark cabin.
A tall, heavily scarred man aggressively stepped entirely through the thick smoke, holding a smoking assault rifle directly at my chest.
