Chapter 6 - The Siege Begins

The heavy engine blocks vibrated as Marcus's men began battering the front steel door.
Elias checked the magazine of his borrowed handgun, realizing he only had eight bullets to hold off an army.
Alexei took a position behind a rusted truck chassis, aiming his shotgun at the main entrance.
Nakia crouched behind a solid concrete pillar, clutching a makeshift Molotov cocktail she had built from motor oil and rags.
Elias looked at his housekeeper, his heart aching with an unfamiliar, profound terror of losing her.
He promised her that he would burn the entire city to the ground before he let them touch her.
The steel door finally groaned and gave way, crashing inward with a deafening screech of tearing metal.
Four heavily armed mercenaries flooded into the auto shop, firing blindly into the shadows.
Elias moved with lethal precision, taking out two of the men with perfect, single shots to the chest.
Alexei fired his shotgun, the massive blast throwing a third attacker backward out the doorway.
The fourth man spotted Nakia and swung his assault rifle toward her concrete pillar.
Nakia lit the rag of her makeshift bomb and hurled it directly at the attacker's feet.
The glass bottle shattered, erupting into a violent wall of blinding orange fire.
The man screamed as the flames engulfed him, forcing him to drop his weapon and run.
Elias looked at Nakia with a mixture of absolute awe and fierce, undeniable pride.
They had successfully repelled the first wave, but the silence outside was far more terrifying than the gunfire.
Marcus ordered his men to fall back and change their tactical approach.
He shouted through the megaphone that he was going to burn the entire garage down with them inside.
Thick, black smoke began to pour through the ventilation grates near the ceiling.
Elias realized they were trapped in a concrete oven with absolutely no secondary exit.
Alexei coughed violently, pointing toward a heavy hydraulic car lift in the center of the room.
He said the lift covered an old bootlegger tunnel that led directly into the city storm drains.
Elias ran to the control panel, frantically pressing the heavy green button to raise the steel platform.
May you like
The machinery groaned, but the electrical power to the building suddenly died.
Marcus had cut the main power line, trapping the hydraulic lift firmly against the floor.
