Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Choice

Vance smiled a bloody, truly wicked smile from the pilot's seat of the helicopter.

He had miraculously survived the truck crash at the warehouse and managed to heavily intercept their final extraction.

"The real director is dead, Maya," Vance laughed cruelly, pointing a heavy shotgun directly at her chest.

"It ends here, on this roof, right now."

David felt a massive surge of absolute, uncontrollable rage boil over instantly in his blood.

He absolutely refused to let this monster take his loving family away from him again.

Without a single second thought, David sprinted courageously toward the helicopter in a desperate zigzag pattern.

Vance fired the shotgun loudly, the blast completely missing David but violently shattering the glass door of the aircraft.

Before Vance could effectively pump another round into the chamber, David leaped directly through the open door.

He tackled the massive security chief backward into the cabin, wrestling violently for control of the deadly weapon.

Vance was much larger and stronger, but David was fueled entirely by the pure adrenaline of a father protecting his son.

David managed to twist the barrel of the shotgun sharply upward just as Vance foolishly pulled the trigger a second time.

The massive blast blew a large hole right through the main control panel of the helicopter, causing the aircraft's systems to short circuit entirely.

Hot sparks flew everywhere, and the engine immediately began to whine in a terrifying, high-pitched scream.

David threw a brutal, powerful elbow straight into Vance's broken nose, sending the traitor collapsing backward out of the open side door.

Vance screamed endlessly as he plummeted fifty stories down into the completely dark city streets below.

David scrambled safely out of the ruined, smoking helicopter and ran back instantly to his family.

Within just a few minutes, genuine police sirens wailed loudly in the distance, followed closely by legitimate FBI tactical teams swarming the building.

The corrupted agents, the injured Sarah, and the surviving mercenaries were all apprehended securely without any further resistance.

Kael's criminal empire was completely destroyed, the stolen funds were safely recovered, and the Viper Syndicate was wiped off the map forever.

Two wonderful weeks later, the Carter family stood peacefully on the sunny porch of a beautiful new home in the quiet countryside.

Leo was laughing joyfully, chasing a small golden retriever puppy happily across the bright green lawn.

David securely wrapped his arms around Maya's waist, kissing her softly on the cheek as they happily watched their son play.

They had finally found their beautiful happy ending, safe from the dangerous shadows that had haunted them for so long.

But as Maya turned happily to walk back inside to prepare a lovely family dinner, her highly encrypted burner phone buzzed loudly in her back pocket.

She discreetly checked the incoming message, and the healthy color instantly drained away from her beautiful face.

The text clearly read: "You killed my brother Kael, but you completely forgot about the rest of the Viper council."

She looked up quickly in sheer terror and saw a massive black van parked slowly at the end of their seemingly safe suburban street.
