Chapter 4 - The Hostage

A chorus of absolute, sheer terror erupted from the wedding guests as they watched a husband take his pregnant wife hostage.
My father's face drained of all color, his usual composed, billionaire demeanor instantly replaced by the raw, primal fear of a desperate parent.
The tactical officers immediately raised their heavy assault rifles, aiming dozens of red laser sights directly at Dominic's chest.
"Nobody take a single step forward, or I swear I will pull this trigger!" Dominic screamed, his voice cracking with unhinged, dangerous desperation.
He tightened his sweaty grip around my throat, cutting off my air supply as he violently dragged me backward toward the main exit.
I choked and gasped for breath, placing both of my hands protectively over my swollen stomach to shield my innocent baby.
Chloe and Eleanor completely froze in place, too horrified by Dominic's psychotic escalation to even utter a single word of protest.
"Dominic, you are making a catastrophic mistake that you will never be able to undo," my father warned, his voice remarkably steady despite the terror.
Dominic laughed maniacally, the sound echoing chillingly through the massive, crystal-lit ballroom.
"You have more money than God, Marcus, and you are going to give me ten million dollars right now!" Dominic aggressively demanded.
He wildly instructed my father to authorize an immediate, untraceable offshore wire transfer and secure a private helicopter on the roof.
I could feel Dominic's heart pounding violently against my back, his entire body shaking with the adrenaline of a cornered, dangerous animal.
"I will give you whatever you want, just carefully lower the weapon away from my daughter's stomach," my father negotiated calmly.
As Dominic shifted his weight to yell another aggressive command, a sudden, blinding spike of agony ripped completely through my lower abdomen.
The sheer, overwhelming physical trauma and intense psychological stress had violently triggered my body into a catastrophic, premature reaction.
I let out a blood-curdling scream of pure agony as my knees completely buckled underneath me.
Dominic struggled to hold my dead weight, cursing loudly as he desperately tried to keep the heavy weapon pressed against my body.
A sudden, warm rush of fluid cascaded rapidly down my legs, completely soaking the hem of my torn maternity gown and pooling on the marble floor.
My water had just broken violently, a full month before my baby was actually due to enter the world.
The guests gasped in renewed, absolute horror as they realized I was actively going into premature labor while being held at gunpoint.
Dominic looked down at the massive puddle of fluid on the floor, his eyes widening in sheer, unexpected panic as he realized the horrific severity of the situation.
"Make the transfer now, or I swear I'll let her bleed out right here on this floor!" Dominic shrieked, completely losing his grip on reality.
My father took a slow, calculated step forward, his eyes burning with a dark, lethal intensity that promised absolute destruction.

"I will not let you take her, but I have another proposition that you cannot refuse," my father stated coldly.
He reached into his tailored suit jacket and slowly pulled out a small, metallic electronic device.
