Chapter 8 - The Heir is Born

Elena screamed, a primal sound of absolute agony and fierce determination.
Julian knelt at the end of the surgical table, his hands trembling as he guided his wife through the terrifying process.
"You are doing so well, my love," he encouraged her, his voice breaking with emotion.
With one final, desperate push, the room was suddenly filled with the miraculous, piercing sound of a baby crying.
Julian gently caught his newborn son, wrapping him quickly in a sterile blue medical towel.
He placed the screaming, healthy infant directly onto Elena's exhausted chest.
She wept tears of pure joy, kissing the tiny forehead of the child she had fought so hard to protect.
For a brief, fleeting moment, the horror of the night completely vanished.
They were simply a family, whole and unbroken.
The beautiful moment was shattered by the sound of heavy, organized footsteps echoing down the exterior hallway.
Stefano walked slowly into the ruined surgical suite, flanked by his elite, personal tactical team.
He looked at the unconscious mercenaries on the floor and sighed in mild disappointment.
"You always were a violent boy, Julian," Stefano said, stepping carefully over the debris.
"But this pathetic rebellion ends right now."
He pointed a gold-plated revolver directly at the crying infant resting on Elena's chest.
"Hand over the child, and I will let you and the maid walk away with your lives," Stefano lied smoothly.
Julian gently kissed his wife's forehead and stood up to face his uncle.
He did not raise his hands, nor did he beg for mercy.
Instead, Julian calmly reached into his soaked tuxedo jacket and pulled out a small, blinking electronic detonator.
"Do you remember when my real estate firm purchased this entire city block five years ago, Stefano?" Julian asked coldly.
Stefano's arrogant smile faltered slightly as he stared at the blinking red light.
"I had the construction crews wire the foundation of every building with heavy demolition explosives, just in case I ever needed to clear the lot quickly."
May you like
Julian pressed his thumb firmly against the trigger mechanism of the detonator.
"If you do not order your men to drop their weapons, I will vaporize this entire block, and we will all die together."
