Chapter 2 - The Security Breach

Julian stared at the closed elevator doors with his fists clenched at his sides.

Camila walked up behind him and let out a dramatic, exaggerated sigh.

"I cannot believe you just humiliated me over some crazy pregnant maid," she complained loudly.

Julian slowly turned around to face his new girlfriend.

His eyes were completely devoid of any warmth or affection.

"Your bodyguard just pulled a weapon on me and kidnapped my wife," Julian stated coldly.

Camila rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her emerald gown.

"Marcus is just doing his job and protecting the guests from unstable employees," she lied smoothly.

Julian did not waste another second arguing with a woman he now knew was part of a conspiracy.

He sprinted across the lobby and kicked open the door to the hotel's central security room.

Two technicians jumped out of their chairs in sheer panic.

"I own thirty percent of this hotel group, and if you do not pull up the basement cameras right now, I will ruin your lives," Julian roared.

The terrified technicians frantically typed on their keyboards.

A dozen camera feeds flashed onto the massive wall of monitors.

Julian scanned the screens until he found the basement loading dock.

He saw Marcus dragging a struggling Elena through the concrete corridors.

Elena was crying and clutching her stomach as Marcus forced her into the back of a black luxury SUV.

Julian memorized the license plate number before the vehicle sped out of the underground garage.

He pulled out his phone and dialed his private intelligence team.

"Track this plate immediately and send the coordinates to my phone," he ordered.

He turned to leave the security room, only to find Camila blocking the doorway.

She was holding a small, silver pistol aimed directly at his chest.

"You really should have just gone up to the rooftop bar with me, Julian," she smiled wickedly.
