Chapter 6 - The Devil's Confession

Graham moved with the terrifying, completely silent speed of an apex predator defending its territory.
He lunged aggressively out of the dark kitchen, grabbing the mercenary’s heavy rifle barrel and forcing it violently toward the ceiling.
Graham struck the man brutally in the throat with his free hand, completely neutralizing the deadly threat in a single second.
He quietly lowered the unconscious guard to the floor, taking the man’s extra ammunition magazines for himself.
They carefully made their way toward the grand library, where the heavy mahogany doors were left arrogantly wide open.
Everett Sloan was sitting completely comfortably in Graham’s expensive leather chair, sipping a glass of rare scotch.
Owen was sitting entirely perfectly still on the large leather sofa, nervously clutching a torn couch pillow to his chest.
Julian stood silently right behind the terrified boy, holding a heavy silver pistol completely aimed at Owen’s small head.
Graham stepped boldly into the bright room, aiming his own weapon directly at Everett’s arrogant, smiling face.
Everett casually placed his crystal glass on the desk and loudly applauded Graham’s completely unexpected survival.
He proudly confessed that he had spent twenty long years manipulating the Hawthorne family from the dark shadows.
Everett admitted that he was the one who had secretly terrified Owen, slowly conditioning the boy to completely distrust his own father.
He wanted Owen to be highly vulnerable and entirely completely dependent on Everett after Graham was tragically murdered.
Everett laughed cruelly, revealing his ultimate, deeply twisted legal master plan to the entire room.
He proudly explained that he had already forged legal documents making himself Owen’s sole permanent guardian in the event of Graham's death.
Everett completely intended to legally absorb the billions of dollars in the Hawthorne trust fund through the terrified child.

To completely break Graham’s spirit, Everett pulled a crisp white medical document from his tailored suit pocket.
He proudly announced that the secret DNA test in his hand completely proved that Graham was not Owen’s biological father.
