Chapter 2 - The Terminal Ambush

The cold fluorescent lights buzzed loudly above the tense standoff in the abandoned freight terminal.

The corrupt security chief slowly cocked the heavy pistol, fully preparing to execute the billionaire.

Graham did not show even a single fraction of fear or hesitation in his dark eyes.

He kicked a heavy metal trash can violently across the concrete floor directly at the traitor’s legs.

The loud distraction bought Graham the exact split second he needed to close the dangerous distance.

Graham aggressively tackled the massive guard, slamming his body brutally against the rusty metal lockers.

The gun fired wildly into the ceiling, raining sparks and concrete dust down onto Claire’s shoulders.

Claire did not freeze in panic like a helpless victim.

She grabbed a heavy steel wrench from a nearby discarded toolbox and swung it with all her strength.

The heavy metal struck the corrupt guard perfectly on the side of his knee.

He screamed in sudden agony, dropping the weapon as his leg buckled completely beneath him.

Graham delivered a final, devastating punch to the traitor’s jaw, knocking him completely unconscious on the cold floor.

He quickly scooped up the dropped pistol and checked the loaded magazine with practiced, terrifying efficiency.

Claire gathered the secret letter, the photographs, and the digital voice recorder, shoving them safely into her coat pocket.

They desperately sprinted out of the dusty terminal and jumped into Graham’s armored luxury vehicle.

Graham immediately grabbed his encrypted cell phone and dialed the private security line to the mansion.

He needed to completely lock down the estate and forcefully secure his eight year old son.

The phone rang three times before someone finally picked up on the other end.

It was not the loyal captain of the mansion guard.

Everett Sloan’s perfectly calm, aristocratic voice echoed softly through the vehicle’s expensive speakers.

He politely informed Graham that Owen was sitting right next to him in the library, completely surrounded by heavily armed men.
