The warehouse erupted into a deafening storm of gunfire.
David provided heavy suppressing fire from the elevated office window.
Elena grabbed Mia, shielding the crying child with her own body.
"I have got you, sweetheart," Elena promised, kissing Mia's forehead.
The police sirens finally wailed in the distance.
The stolen truck driver had called the authorities.
Hearing the sirens, the cartel mercenaries immediately abandoned the warehouse, fleeing into the night.
Vanessa was left sobbing on the concrete floor, surrounded by the bodies of Greg's men.

Elena, David, and Mia were escorted safely back to a secure FBI safehouse.

David held Elena tightly, kissing her gently as Mia slept soundly on the sofa.
