Chapter 10 - The Last Dance

Elena stared at the handcuffs in absolute disbelief.

Alex immediately stepped between her and the federal agent.

“She signed that document under extreme duress to save a hostage’s life,” Alex stated, his billionaire authority radiating through the room.

He pulled out his phone and dialed his elite team of corporate litigators.

Within hours, the warehouse was flooded with the most expensive lawyers in the country.

They systematically dismantled the FBI’s case, proving the transfer was invalid due to extortion and immediate threat of death.

The lead agent reluctantly removed the cuffs from Elena’s wrists.

“You win this round, Mr. Sterling,” she muttered, walking away.

The nightmare was finally over.

A month later, the grand ballroom of the hotel was once again filled with music and laughter.

The syndicate had been dismantled, and Julian was facing life in federal prison.

Elena wore a stunning white gown, but this time, it was not for a charade.

Alex stood at the center of the dance floor, watching her approach with a look of pure adoration.

They had legally dissolved all the hostile contracts and merged their companies as equal partners.

More importantly, they had merged their lives.

Elena stepped into his arms, and he spun her gracefully beneath the glittering chandelier.

“You look beautiful, Mrs. Sterling,” he whispered, leaning down to kiss her.

The crowd erupted in genuine cheers as they shared a passionate, lingering kiss.

They had survived betrayal, bankruptcy, and death to find true love in each other.

The celebration continued late into the night with endless champagne and joyful music.

As they sat at their private table, a masked waiter silently approached.

He handed Elena a thick, wax-sealed black envelope and disappeared into the crowd.

Elena broke the seal and pulled out a single, chilling photograph of her allegedly dead father standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Alex's mother.

A message scrawled on the back in dark red ink read that the real game was just beginning.
