Chapter 8 - The Final Confrontation

Liam drove the black car directly through the chained gates of my father's auto shop.
We smashed perfectly through the heavy garage doors, sending sparks and metal flying everywhere.
My father and Olivia were standing near the main hydraulic lift, looking completely shocked.
Liam jumped out of the car with his weapon raised, ordering them to freeze.
I stepped out of the passenger side, leaning heavily on a spare tire iron I found in the backseat.
My father wiped his irritated, red eyes and laughed a dark, menacing laugh.
He casually pressed a button on a remote control attached to his belt.
The massive hydraulic lift suddenly groaned, slowly lowering a crushed car directly over us.
Liam grabbed my waist and tackled me out of the way just as the heavy vehicle crashed to the ground.
The impact shook the entire garage, kicking up a massive cloud of dust and debris.
When the dust finally settled, Olivia was pointing a hunting rifle directly at my chest.
She coldly stated that she was not going to let me ruin her chance at becoming incredibly wealthy.
I looked at my younger sister and asked her if money was really worth killing her own blood.
She smirked and proudly declared that I was never a real sister to her anyway.
Just as Olivia placed her finger firmly on the trigger, a loud gunshot echoed through the garage.
Olivia dropped the rifle and collapsed to her knees, clutching a bleeding wound on her shoulder.
My father had shot her perfectly from behind.
He calmly lowered his smoking pistol and stepped over her weeping body.

He looked at me and explained that splitting the insurance money two ways was never part of his actual plan.
He raised his weapon again, aiming the barrel squarely between my eyes.
