Chapter 9 - The Kidnapping
Clara coughs violently, waving the thick smoke away from her face.
Standing in the ruined doorway is Victor, holding a massive tactical shotgun.
His charming demeanor is completely gone, replaced by the eyes of a absolute psychopath.
"You talk too much, Vanessa," Victor growls at the television screen.
He raises the shotgun and completely destroys the television with a single blast.
Victor steps into the nursery and glares at Clara.
"Get the baby out of the panic room and hand him to me," Victor orders.
Clara steps protectively in front of the hidden room, raising her handgun.
"I won't let you hurt him, Victor," Clara says, her hands shaking but her voice steady.
Victor laughs cruelly and pumps the shotgun.
"You are a maid, Clara, you don't have the stomach to pull that trigger," he mocks.
Victor takes a heavy step forward, preparing to kill her without hesitation.
Suddenly, the shattered window behind Victor completely explodes inward.
A grappling hook crashes through the glass, followed instantly by a figure clad in black tactical gear.
The man tackles Victor forcefully to the floor, sending the shotgun skittering across the room.
The man stands up and rips off his tactical mask.
It is Julian, his shoulder heavily bandaged, but his eyes burning with absolute fury.
"You really thought a single bullet could stop me, brother?" Julian roars.
Julian punches Victor viciously across the jaw, knocking him completely unconscious.
Clara lowers her weapon, overwhelmed with absolute relief.
Julian has survived, he has defeated his evil brother, and the nightmare is finally ending.

"You saved my son again, Clara," Julian whispers softly.
