Chapter 1 - The Frame Job
The Maid does not hesitate when the stroller hits the water.
She runs.
She dives.
She reaches the Baby underwater and brings the child back to the surface.
"I saved him!" Clara gasps, coughing up chlorine and gasping for air.
But when the Father rushes onto the patio, the Woman in Green gets to him first.
She points directly at the Maid.
"She pushed him in!" Vanessa shrieks, burying her face into the man's chest.
Clara is still soaked and shivering beside the pool.
The Baby is still crying loudly in her arms.
And before Clara can explain, Julian reacts to the accusation.
He steps forward and rips his son out of Clara's wet arms.
His eyes are entirely dark with a terrifying rage.
"Julian, I swear on my life I didn't do it!" Clara begs, falling to her knees on the wet concrete.
Julian does not even look at her as he wraps his son in a warm towel.
"Call the police and have this murderer thrown in a cell," Julian commands his security guards.
Two massive men in black suits grab Clara by her arms and drag her across the patio.
She screams for justice, but the wealthy guests just stare at her with disgust.
Vanessa watches her being dragged away with a cold, triumphant smile.
But as Vanessa crosses her arms, the sunlight catches something metallic hanging from her wrist.
Clara stops struggling and stares at Vanessa's expensive diamond bracelet.
Tangled perfectly in the diamonds is a ripped piece of black nylon.
It is the exact same safety strap that was torn off the baby's stroller before it rolled into the deep end.
Clara realizes Vanessa did not just push the stroller.

She sabotaged the brakes first.
And just as Clara opens her mouth to shout this revelation to Julian, a security guard covers her mouth with a cloth soaked in chloroform.
