Chapter 8 - The Ultimate Sacrifice
The deafening roar of automatic gunfire completely shattered the elegant beauty of the grand hotel ballroom.
Liam aggressively dove across the polished stage, violently tackling his corrupt uncle just inches away from the detonator.
The two men engaged in a brutal, bloody fistfight, wildly throwing heavy punches as they rolled across the hardwood floor.
Robert was much older, but he fought with the feral, absolute desperation of a man who had entirely nothing left to lose.
He viciously kicked Liam squarely in the ribs, completely forcing the younger man to gasp for air and loosen his grip.

He aimed the deadly weapon directly at Liam's head, an incredibly wicked, highly victorious smile spreading across his bloody face.
"You always were entirely too soft to effectively run this massive empire, Liam," Robert sneered mercilessly.
Evelyn screamed in sheer, absolute terror, hopelessly trapped behind a marble pillar with her paralyzed husband.
Before Robert could pull the heavy trigger, Maya suddenly violently threw herself completely in front of Liam.
The heavy gunshot echoed loudly through the room as the bullet struck the assassin violently in her left shoulder.
Maya collapsed heavily onto the stage, her pristine white wedding gown rapidly turning a dark, highly alarming crimson.
Robert completely stared in absolute shock, entirely unable to comprehend why the ruthless killer would save her target.
Liam used the brief, highly confusing distraction to aggressively kick the pistol completely out of his uncle's hand.
However, Robert simply laughed a dark, deeply sinister laugh and aggressively pulled the black detonator from his suit pocket.
"If I cannot completely own the company, then nobody gets to leave this building alive!" Robert shrieked like a maniac.
He aggressively pressed his thumb completely down on the glowing red button, fully expecting the massive explosion to consume them.
Evelyn tightly closed her eyes, entirely prepared to absolutely die directly beside the two men she loved most.
The heavy, terrifying click of the detonator button echoed loudly in the sudden, eerie silence of the room.
