Evelyn stared at the deadly weapon hidden inside her son's tuxedo jacket in absolute disbelief.
Her mind raced as she tried to comprehend how her brilliant, successful son could knowingly marry a dangerous criminal.
Liam placed a comforting hand on her trembling shoulder and explained the terrifying truth.
He revealed that Maya was a notorious corporate assassin hired by a rival tech syndicate to entirely wipe out their family today.
Liam had discovered her true identity three weeks ago but realized that canceling the wedding would just force the syndicate into the shadows.
He was secretly working alongside an elite private security firm to trap Maya and her entire network during the reception.
"You have to walk out there and smile for the cameras, Mom, or else she will trigger the explosives," Liam warned strictly.
Evelyn felt a sickening wave of nausea wash over her, but she nodded her head to protect her family.
She wiped her tears, fixed her makeup, and walked bravely into the massive, breathtaking cathedral.
Hundreds of wealthy guests were already seated, completely unaware that they were sitting inside a deadly trap.
The grand organ began playing the traditional wedding march, and the heavy wooden doors swung open.
Maya looked absolutely angelic in her flowing white designer gown, clutching a bouquet of white roses.
She walked gracefully down the aisle, offering a warm, sweet smile to everyone she passed.
Evelyn sat in the front row, her heart hammering wildly against her ribs as the imposter approached the altar.

When the priest asked them to exchange their personal vows, Maya leaned incredibly close to Liam's ear.
She gently stroked his cheek with her perfectly manicured hand, looking like a deeply loving bride.
However, Evelyn could clearly see the sinister, completely wicked gleam flashing in Maya's dark eyes.
Maya's lips barely moved as she whispered a secret message directly to her future husband.
Liam's confident posture instantly stiffened, and his jaw clenched visibly tight.
He quickly kissed the bride, forcing a fake smile as the priest officially pronounced them husband and wife.
The crowd erupted into loud, joyful applause as the newlyweds walked back down the aisle together.
Evelyn rushed up to Liam the absolute second they were safely out of the guests' view in the vestibule.
She frantically asked him what the dangerous woman had whispered to him at the altar.
Liam looked at his mother with wide, completely terrified eyes that chilled her to the bone.
