Chapter 7 - The Breach

Victor kicked the side door off its hinges before the smoke cleared.

He fired two rapid shots.

Marcus dropped to the floor, dead before he realized what hit him.

Gregory screamed and dove behind a stack of shipping containers.

Silas stumbled backward, temporarily blinded by the flashbang.

Victor rushed across the room and positioned himself between Silas and the hostages.

“Drop the gun, Silas!” Victor roared.

Silas blinked rapidly, his vision slowly clearing.

A twisted smile spread across his scarred face.

“Hello, little brother,” Silas sneered.

“Twelve years is a long time to wait for a reunion.”

Silas raised his weapon and aimed directly at Victor’s chest.

“You stole this empire from me,” Silas shouted over the pouring rain outside.

“Our father wanted me to lead, but you poisoned his mind.”

“I made this family legitimate!” Victor yelled back.

“I kept us out of federal prison.”

“You made us cowards!” Silas spat.

Gregory suddenly popped up from behind the containers, aiming his pistol at Hannah.

“Shoot him, Silas, or I kill the maid!” Gregory panicked.

Victor was trapped in a crossfire.

If he shot Silas, Gregory would kill Hannah.

If he shot Gregory, Silas would kill him.

Victor slowly lowered his rifle to the ground.

“Let the woman and the child go, Silas,” Victor bargained.

“They have nothing to do with this.”

Silas chuckled darkly.

“They are the only reason you are standing here without your army.”

Silas stepped closer, pressing the barrel of his gun against Victor’s forehead.

“Say goodbye to your new family, Victor.”

A loud metallic crack suddenly echoed through the warehouse.

Gregory screamed in agony and dropped his gun.

Hannah had managed to free her hands and stabbed Gregory in the leg with a broken shard of glass.
