Chapter 3 - The Great Escape

Alexander realized in a terrifying fraction of a second that his entire security team had been completely compromised.

He did not hesitate for another moment as he grabbed a massive brass candlestick from the floral altar.

With a vicious, adrenaline-fueled swing, he smashed the heavy metal base directly into the corrupt captain's jaw.

The large man collapsed heavily to the marble floor, completely unconscious before he even landed.

Alexander immediately scooped up little Lily and baby Mia in his strong arms, holding them tightly against his broad chest.

He sprinted down the side aisle of the massive cathedral, dodging terrified, screaming guests who were frantically scrambling for the exits.

Eleanor shrieked in absolute fury, demanding that someone shoot him before he could reach the heavy wooden doors.

Bullets began to shatter the ancient stained-glass windows, raining sharp, colorful shards down upon the panicked wealthy elite.

Alexander shielded his daughters with his tuxedo jacket, bursting through the side exit and out into the chaotic, rainy streets.

He spotted his personal, armor-plated wedding limousine idling quietly near the edge of the cathedral steps.

The loyal driver had already been dragged out of the front seat and lay bleeding heavily on the wet pavement.

Alexander kicked the driver's side door open, gently placing the crying children into the spacious, leather back seat.

He jumped behind the wheel, slamming his foot aggressively onto the gas pedal just as armed men poured out of the church.

The massive engine roared to life, and the heavy limousine tore through the iron gates, leaving the dangerous wedding behind.

Lily cried quietly in the back, rocking her baby sister as the dark city streets blurred past the tinted windows.

Alexander looked in the rearview mirror, promising the terrified little girl that he would never let anyone hurt them again.

He reached for the encrypted satellite phone mounted on the dashboard to call the federal authorities for immediate backup.

Just as his fingers brushed the cold plastic receiver, he noticed the digital dashboard flashing a bright, terrifying red warning.

He aggressively pumped the brake pedal, but it went completely flat against the floorboard with zero resistance.

Someone had expertly sliced the brake lines, and the massive vehicle was currently hurtling toward a concrete intersection at ninety miles per hour.
