Chapter 4 - The Betrayal

I felt my entire world violently collapse in a matter of seconds.

The woman I had loved and trusted was intentionally poisoning our innocent daughter.

I asked Victoria why she would ever do something so incredibly evil to her own child.

Victoria did not cry or beg for my forgiveness like I expected her to.

Instead, her panicked expression shifted into a cold, terrifying smile.

She calmly smoothed out the wrinkles in her expensive designer dress.

She told me that Emily was never actually her child to begin with.

Victoria confessed that she could never have children, so she orchestrated the fire to eliminate my first wife.

She had paid Doctor Reynolds to fake the medical records and swap the surviving children in the burn ward.

Emily was actually my first wife's child, the one I thought had died in the flames.

I felt a blinding, murderous rage consume my entire body.

I lunged toward Victoria, wanting to tear her apart with my bare hands.

Suddenly, a heavy blow struck the back of my head, sending me crashing to the floor.

My trusted Head of Security, Marcus, stood over me holding a heavy steel baton.

Marcus looked at Victoria and asked if they should dispose of my body in the lake.
