Chapter 6 - The Ultimate Trap

"You really inherited your father's tragic flaw, Alejandro," Richard sneered, his voice echoing in the empty room.
"You are too emotional, and you trust the wrong people."
A dozen elite tactical mercenaries stepped out from the shadows, their laser sights painting bright red dots on Alejandro's chest.
Elena raised her weapon, her hands shaking as she aimed directly at her own father.
"Stand down, Elena," Richard ordered with bored annoyance.
"You have played your little rebellion game long enough, and it is time to come home."
Alejandro gripped the encrypted flash drive in his pocket, realizing they had walked into a meticulously planned ambush.
Richard stood up and slowly walked toward them, completely unafraid of his daughter's loaded gun.
"I knew about your pathetic safehouse for months," Richard bragged confidently.
"I simply allowed you to bring Alejandro to me so I could eliminate the last remaining threat to my empire."
Richard pulled out a remote detonator and pressed a red button.
A massive live feed appeared on the wall monitor, showing Alejandro's safehouse entirely engulfed in explosive flames.
The backup servers, the remaining evidence, and all of Alejandro's customized hardware were instantly turned to ash.
Alejandro felt a heavy weight drop in his stomach as his only leverage burned to the ground.
"You have absolutely nothing left," Richard smiled cruelly.
He gestured to the heavily armed mercenaries surrounding them.
"Kill the boy, and lock my daughter in the penthouse vault until she learns some respect."
The mercenaries raised their assault rifles, their fingers tightening on the triggers.
Alejandro grabbed Elena and violently shoved her behind a thick concrete pillar just as the gunfire erupted.
Bullets chewed through the walls, filling the room with deafening noise and thick, choking concrete dust.
They were completely pinned down, outnumbered, and entirely outgunned.
"We are going to die here," Elena sobbed, clutching Alejandro's jacket.
Alejandro looked at the main power conduit running along the ceiling above the mercenaries.
He didn't have an army, but he still had his brilliant, terrifying intellect.

Alejandro pulled a small EMP grenade from his tactical vest, a prototype he had secretly developed at his tech company.
He set the timer for exactly three seconds and threw it directly into the center of the room.
