Chapter 5 - The Blood Debt

Alejandro stopped breathing as he stared at the grainy footage on the large monitor.

His father had supposedly died in a tragic car accident twenty years ago, leaving Alejandro completely orphaned.

But the video playing before him told a horrifyingly different story.

Richard Sterling stood over Alejandro's father, holding a heavy silver revolver.

"You should never have tried to leave the syndicate, Marcos," Richard said coldly in the video.

Richard pulled the trigger without a single moment of hesitation.

Alejandro fell back into his chair, a sickening wave of grief and pure, unadulterated rage crashing over him.

His entire life, his immense drive for success, and his solitary existence were all built on a massive lie.

Elena placed a trembling hand on his shoulder, tears silently streaming down her face.

"I only decrypted that specific file last week," she whispered softly.

"That is why I finally brought you into this war, Alejandro."

Alejandro abruptly stood up, violently shoving his chair backward.

He was no longer a betrayed tech billionaire; he was a son fueled by a terrifying thirst for absolute vengeance.

"How do we completely destroy him?" Alejandro demanded, his voice dropping to a lethal whisper.

"The rest of the syndicate files are physically air-gapped," Elena explained, pulling up a digital blueprint.

"The master decryption key is kept inside a titanium server at the very top of Sterling Tower."

Alejandro analyzed the complex blueprints of the heavily fortified skyscraper.

"If we insert a customized override virus directly into that server, it will instantly drain his offshore accounts and send the evidence to the federal authorities," Alejandro strategized.

They spent the next three hours coding the most aggressive, destructive computer virus Alejandro had ever created.

They equipped themselves with tactical gear and loaded their weapons.

They drove back into the heart of the city just as the sun began to rise over the skyline.

Using Elena's biometric access codes, they successfully infiltrated the underground service entrance of Sterling Tower.

They silently neutralized the security guards in the stairwell, climbing eighty floors with burning determination.

They finally reached the heavily armored door of the master server room.

Elena entered the final access code, and the heavy steel door hissed open.

They stepped inside the freezing room, ready to upload the lethal virus and end the nightmare forever.

But the server racks were completely empty, stripped of all hard drives.

Richard Sterling was sitting in a leather chair at the center of the room, slowly clapping his hands.
