Chapter 8 - The Infiltration

The horrifying image of Jessica tied to a chair sent a complicated wave of nausea through Dora's stomach.

Despite the years of cruel bullying, Dora absolutely didn't want the woman to be brutally murdered.

"Arthur is entirely ruthless, and he is cleaning up his loose ends," Victor stated grimly, loading a heavy assault rifle.

"I am going with you to the shipyard," Dora demanded, crossing her arms firmly over her chest.

Victor immediately shook his head, his dark eyes flashing with absolute refusal.

"It is far too dangerous, Dora, and I will not risk losing you again today," Victor argued forcefully.

"You literally cannot navigate the flooded drainage tunnels in the dark without my exact directions," Dora fired back without hesitation.

Victor stared at her incredibly fierce, determined expression for a long moment before finally nodding once in defeat.

"You stay exactly one step behind me at all times, do you completely understand?" Victor ordered strictly.

They quickly geared up in dark tactical clothing and drove silently toward the abandoned industrial shipyard.

The heavy rain provided the perfect, noisy cover as they slipped unnoticed onto the dark docks.

Dora expertly led Victor and a small team of his elite men toward a rusted, completely overgrown iron grate near the waterline.

They pulled the heavy grate aside and slipped quietly into the foul-smelling, flooded tunnel beneath the warehouse.

The icy water was waist-deep, filled with horrible debris and incredibly aggressive wharf rats.

Dora didn't complain once, moving with silent determination toward the heavy concrete hatch she remembered from her cleaning shifts.

They slowly pushed the metal hatch open, emerging silently into the dark shadows of the main warehouse floor.

Mia and Jessica were tied to chairs in the absolute center of the room, illuminated by a harsh, swinging overhead light.

Arthur was casually sipping expensive whiskey nearby, completely surrounded by twenty heavily armed guards.

Victor signaled silently to his men, preparing to launch a coordinated, completely lethal ambush from the shadows.

Dora held her breath, her eyes locked entirely on her terrified younger sister.

Suddenly, the entire warehouse was bathed in violently bright, blinding floodlights.

A massive steel cage aggressively dropped from the ceiling, violently slamming down directly over Victor, Dora, and their men.

They were completely trapped in the reinforced trap before they could fire a single shot.

Arthur slowly walked over to the bars of the heavy cage, laughing mockingly at their stunned faces.

"Did you honestly think your little waitress was the only one who knew about the old drainage tunnels?" Arthur taunted cruelly.

Leo aggressively raised his rifle to shoot Arthur through the thick steel bars.

Before Leo could pull the trigger, a loud sniper shot completely shattered the warehouse window.

A high-caliber bullet instantly tore violently through Leo's shoulder, throwing him backward onto the concrete floor in a pool of dark blood.
