Chapter 7 - The Desperate Deal

Victoria aimed the heavy weapon squarely at the center of the windshield, directly at Elena's face.
Her expensive designer dress fluttered slightly in the harsh breeze of the car's roaring exhaust fumes.
She loudly ordered Elena to turn off the engine and step out of the vehicle immediately.
Elena gripped the steering wheel tightly, knowing the expensive glass of this specific car was completely bulletproof.
But she also knew they were now trapped inside a sealed concrete box with absolutely no way out.
Elena rolled the driver's side window down just a tiny crack in a desperate attempt to negotiate.
She yelled out that she had taken clear photos of the fake obituary and the trust fund documents on her phone.
She threatened to send all the evidence to the police and the press if Victoria did not open the gates right now.
Victoria simply stared at her for a moment before letting out a cold, mocking laugh that echoed in the garage.
She pulled out a small black remote control device from the pocket of her elegant dress.
Victoria pressed a red button, and the military-grade cell phone signal jammers installed in the mansion instantly activated.
Elena looked down at her phone screen in sheer panic and saw the service bars completely vanish.
Then, the main ventilation system in the underground garage suddenly shut off with a loud mechanical clunk.

Victoria smiled wickedly, turned around, and walked out of the garage, sealing the heavy steel door behind her.
Thick, gray exhaust fumes from the running engine began rapidly filling the enclosed, airtight room.
