Chapter 1 - The Hidden Files

The terrified housemaid stood trembling at the top of the grand staircase as tears streamed down her pale cheeks.
Victor Blackwood stared at her, his heart pounding a frantic rhythm against his ribs.
He tightened his grip on the tiny black recorder that had just exposed the cruel true nature of his future wife.
Serena scrambled to her feet, her elegant designer dress now heavily wrinkled from her violent struggle with the nanny.
She pointed a manicured finger at the weeping maid and screamed at her to go back to her quarters immediately.
The maid, whose name was Maria, refused to move and instead clutched a thick manila folder tightly to her chest.
Maria slowly descended the marble steps, keeping her eyes locked on Victor with an expression of pure desperation.
She whispered that she had been collecting evidence for weeks, too terrified of Serena to come forward until now.
Victor gently handed his crying son, Ethan, to Lily, who held the toddler securely in her protective embrace.
He stepped toward Maria and demanded to see exactly what she was hiding inside the heavy folder.
Serena realized her entire plan was unraveling in seconds and suddenly let out a deafening, animalistic shriek.
She grabbed a heavy bronze statue from a nearby display table and aggressively lunged directly toward Maria's head.
Victor intercepted her with lightning speed, grabbing her wrist and violently twisting the heavy weapon out of her hand.
The bronze statue crashed onto the expensive marble floor with a sickening thud that echoed through the massive mansion.
He shoved Serena backward onto the velvet sofa, his eyes burning with a cold, terrifying fury that froze her in place.
Victor gently took the manila folder from the shaking maid and slowly broke the wax seal holding it closed.
Inside, he found a stack of highly classified medical documents, secret bank transfers, and disturbing photographs.
The documents proved Serena had been slowly poisoning his son with a rare chemical designed to mimic a terminal illness.
The bank records showed massive wire transfers from Serena's offshore accounts to someone operating inside the Blackwood estate.
Victor looked up from the horrifying files, realizing with absolute dread that the woman he loved had an accomplice living under his roof.

Before he could demand answers, the heavy oak doors of the mansion burst open with explosive force.
The head of estate security stepped into the foyer, calmly locking the deadbolt behind him and raising a suppressed pistol directly at Victor's chest.
