Chapter 6 - The Brother's Wrath
Julian Cole walked out from behind a concrete pillar.
He was wearing a tailored suit and holding a suppressed automatic weapon.
Julian looked exactly like Marcus, but his eyes were entirely dead.
"You always were too smart for your own good, Marcus."
Julian kicked his brother hard in the ribs.
Marcus groaned and rolled over on the concrete.
Vanessa rushed over to Julian and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Did you get the wire transfer cleared?" she asked.
Julian smiled and kissed her forehead.
"The money is safely in the offshore account."
Julian pointed his weapon directly at my windshield.
"Get out of the car, or I will shoot through the glass."
I slowly opened the door, clutching Lily tightly.
Julian ordered Greg to tie Marcus's hands behind his back with zip ties.
"What is your plan, Julian?" Marcus spat blood onto the floor.
"I take the money, I take your fiancée, and you die in a tragic accident."
Julian gestured toward the heavy steel door of the underground art vault.
"Put them in the vault."
Greg shoved me forward roughly.
Marta dragged Marcus toward the thick metal door.
Julian suddenly grabbed Lily by her small arm and ripped her away from me.
I screamed and fought like a wild animal.
Greg struck me across the face, sending me crashing to the floor.
Julian held a crying Lily in his arms and smiled.

The heavy steel door of the vault slammed shut in our faces.
