Khloe caught a taxi in the rain and rode directly to the city hospital, praying she was not entirely too late.
She ran down the fourth-floor corridor, completely out of breath and desperate to see her sick mother.
She pushed open the heavy wooden door to room 412, but her heart instantly stopped beating.
The hospital bed was entirely empty, and the expensive life support machines had been completely removed.
A tall, incredibly dangerous shadow stepped out from the dark corner of the empty hospital room.
It was Roman, casually holding her mother's detailed medical chart in his large hand.
