Chapter 9 - The Real Traitor
The entire warehouse descended into absolute, breathless silence.
Lily's tiny finger remained pointed firmly at Sofia, the Moretti family's most trusted and brilliant consiglieri.
For three years, Sofia had been Adrian's closest advisor, constantly comforting him through his deteriorating health.
Sofia's calm, elegant facade shattered instantly, replaced by a cold, venomous glare of pure hatred.
She slowly stepped forward, pulling a gold-plated pistol from her designer handbag without a single ounce of fear.
She coldly admitted that she had manipulated Dominic's blind ambition to destroy Adrian from the inside out.
Sofia despised the Moretti brothers for killing her father in a gang war twenty years ago, and she had spent decades plotting her ultimate revenge.
She had secretly allied with the Russo cartel, feeding them internal secrets while systematically poisoning Adrian's mind and body.
Dominic stared at her in total disbelief, realizing he had been nothing but a foolish puppet in her intricate, lethal game.
Enraged by the ultimate betrayal, Dominic foolishly drew his weapon and aimed it directly at Sofia's chest.
Before he could even pull the trigger, the Russo cartel boss shot Dominic squarely in the back, dropping him instantly to the cold concrete floor.
Absolute chaos erupted as the fragile alliance between the families instantly collapsed into a violent bloodbath.
Bullets began flying in every single direction as the rival factions completely turned on each other.
Adrian did not care about the empire, the money, or his treacherous brother bleeding out on the floor.
He dove fiercely through the crossfire, sprinting directly toward the wooden crate where Lily was huddled in terror.
High above the chaos, a massive glass skylight suddenly shattered into a million falling pieces.
Enzo had completely disobeyed orders, bringing Clara and a tactical sniper squad to the warehouse roof.
Enzo provided devastating cover fire, dropping Russo guards with ruthless precision while Adrian scooped Lily into his arms.

Sofia, realizing her grand master plan was completely falling apart, locked her furious eyes on the mafia boss.
She raised her gold-plated pistol, ignoring the bullets whizzing past her, and took dead aim at the crying child in Adrian's arms.
