Chapter 4 - The Rat in the Trap
Doctor Brent slid down the velvet curtains and collapsed onto the floor.
The remaining eleven doctors backed away in absolute horror.
Leo aimed his flashlight and his gun at the group of trembling men.
"One of you just silenced him," Leo growled.
He grabbed the nearest surgeon by the collar and threw him across the room.
"Who did it?"
No one answered.
Olivia continued to manually squeeze the resuscitation bag for Vincent.
Her arms were burning with exhaustion.
She looked down at the dead cardiologist near her feet.
She noticed a faint, blinking light coming from his suit pocket.
"Mister Rossi," Olivia called out quietly.
Leo snapped his head toward her.
"He has a phone in his pocket," Olivia said.
Leo marched over and ripped the jacket open.
He pulled out a cheap, disposable burner phone.
The screen was cracked, but the text messages were clearly visible.
Leo read the final message sent to the dead doctor just ten minutes ago.
His jaw tightened, and his face drained of all color.
"What does it say?" Doctor Gable asked nervously.
Leo did not answer the surgeon.
He slowly turned the phone around so Olivia could see the screen.
The message read: "The override is done. Kill the boss and I will wire the remaining funds."
Olivia looked at the sender's phone number.
She recognized the area code and the specific digits.
She had seen that exact phone number written on the security dispatch logs in the kitchen.
It was Leo Rossi's personal cell phone number.
The eleven doctors realized what this meant.
"You ordered the hit," Doctor Gable whispered, stepping backward.
"You are staging a coup against Vincent."
Leo raised his gun and pointed it directly at the lead surgeon.

"Someone cloned my phone to frame me," Leo stated coldly.
Before he could explain further, the heavy mahogany doors exploded inward.
